Once Again, We Encourage a Commenter to Think About the Man in the Mirror
Some totally-not-fitting-any-online-stereotypes-about-sexist-arrogant-holier-than-thou-people-who-enjoy-meanonymity (I just made meanonymity up! Can we meme it?) commenter on Eater, regarding Paula Deen:
She does fit every stereotype of grotesque southern white trash. As a native-born, multiple-generation southerner I can say that I’m ashamed that I’m from the same part of the world as this horrifying creature and her kin.

Um, this is a really, really mean quote. What the hell!?!

I kind of like her. She enjoys life and tries to make people laugh and have a good time. She is a clever businesswoman. As one who was born in the South, I am quite of proud of her resourcefulness. Her taste is a little out-there, but that is what makes the world go round. We are all different. If everyone were all sophisticated and snooty and overeducated, just think of what a bore it would be. No one to wait on you at restaurants because we would all be college professors and lawyers. No one would take out the garbage or mow the lawn. It would be a really stinky, ugly world.

Welcome, Louise.

Anyone who can commission a life-size bust of themselves made of butter is OKAY BY ME!
(Also, I had to double check that bit to make sure it didn’t sound sarcastic. I assure you of my sincerity! Crap, that sounded sarcastic too. Damn you, internet.)
