Welcome to Shut Up Foodies dot Com!

We’ve bid farewell to Tumblr and moved up to WordPress. There are still some kinks to work out, so please bear with us. (And if you have any skills, let us know!) Some housekeeping notes:

  • Comments didn’t port over from the old site, and I don’t know if we have the energy to go back and do them manually, so any pithy insights you made have been left behind–although honestly the comments are often just me and Meatball amusing ourselves.
  • That said, we’re still pretty picky and ambivalent about comments. If you are here to complain about how other people eat, explain the difference between a timbale and a quiche (yes, someone actually did this), trash Sandra Lee, complain about waitstaff, or mansplain things, don’t expect to get approved. This includes you, guy last week who said he wasn’t going to read the site any more because of our views on gun control.
  • Some of the Tumblr posts never had headlines and WordPress requires them, so we had to go through and manually add them. As you can imagine, this got tedious. If they seem boring or wacky, well, consider the source. I mean the context.
  • Still figuring out how to link this to our Twitter, but that will happen soon when I find the right plugin.

Stay tuned for reports from the Fancy Food Show, which we are attending tomorrow. THERE ARE 82 CRACKER VENDORS. I will not sleep tonight.
