As the (Foodie) World Turns

There seems to be some drama afoot in the food world. This is what I was able to suss out. It could be helpful if you are stuck talking to a foodie this weekend and want to change the subject to backstabbing and self-promotion instead of locally-sourced pimentos or whatever.

1. There is a famous cook named Anthony Bourdain. He’s cheeky!

2. There is a famous food writer named Ruth Reichl. She’s lyrical!

3. There is a mashup Twitter account called Ruth Bourdain. It is both lyrical and cheeky!

4. A food blogger named Pim said she doesn’t think it is funny.

5. Ruth Bourdain, in a brilliantly clever or astoundingly dumb move, responded by not being funny.

6. Apparently this unfunny parody site exists.

7. I got really bored at this point. But I must give props to this writer at KQED (Is he or she on the “Twitter beat?” I weep.) for going with “cage match” and not “foodie fight.”
