A high-concept pop-up resto series from a Top Chef alum, Hunger’s kicking off it’s first run with a 6-course feast themed “Urban Cuisine Bourgeoisie”, which includes a caviar/yogurt sphere, fluke crudo w/ hemp seeds and Persian lime, salsa verde’d bluefish en papillote, and confections like a lavender cream & spun sugar covered croquembouche, which translates directly as “knob in the mouth”.
From Thrillist’s eBlast today describing “The Hunger,” a pop-up restaurant series in Little Italy, NYC.
1. Caviar/yogurt sphere – as in, a perfectly round geometrical object from space? Made of caviarSLASHyogurt?
2. Fluke is a fish. Crudo, I think, means raw. And we all know what hemp seeds are, but never in my life have I wanted to ingest hempy raw fish. I restrict hemp consumption to cookies and brownies, and that’s not made with culinary-grade seeds.
3. I can think of a few things that translate directly to “knob in the mouth”… *ahem*
