This comment on the neverending “scandal” of Sandra Lee not making a good lasagne resonates with me. Hear, hear Mr. Marion!
"Does Mr. Cuomo cook?"
Question from the comments section of the NYT story on Sandra Lee.
Blood-sucking Foodies
But the feast didn’t seem all that bad — warm blood bisque infused with rose petals, blood gelato — and who knew that chilled, carbonated blood could be cruelty-free and willingly donated? “Note the citrusy finish. This one ate only tangerines for weeks.
From the True Blood: Beautifully Broken recap on TV Squad.
The leading man, Bill, was also served cruelty-free blood bouillabaisse and had… *ahem* Thai for the 2nd course. I love when foodies cross over into the undead!
Update: Delay!
Taking a cue from the MTA, our move to WordPress is being slowed down by lack of technical expertise, tediousness, deadlines in other areas, and sick cats. Coming soon, though.
NYC Wine and Food Festival: Soul Train Spoiler Alert!
The copy for the closing party of the NYC Wine and Food Festival ($150) refers to a “special musical guest” but it’s pretty obvious from the opening sentence who it is:
Hey Soul Sister, the NYCWFF always saves the best for last. On this once in a lifetime triple-date of 10/10/10, we offer three perfect 10’s to close out another fantastic weekend. The perfection of superstar chefdom, Guy Fieri, will bring the fire to give revelers one last chance to indulge in the extraordinary. Fieri may be recognizable for his Guy’s Big Bite and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives shows on Food Network, but tonight Guy is thrilled to get back in the kitchen and share his favorite recipes from his Johnny Garlic’s and Tex Wasabi’s restaurant concepts. The perfection continues when a special music guest takes the stage to provide patrons with the perfect soundtrack to enjoy Guy’s savory snack bites.
Yeah, it is probably Train. But as long as there’s still room to hope, we will.

Omelet OMG
[N]ot too many places can make a crab omelette. They get fresh crabs daily and put them in omelettes! It’s just…awesome.
Mark Trojanowski of Sister Hazel, in awe of the complicated recipe for crab omelets.
Supper Club
I leave you on this slightly overcast Thursday (in NYC) with an old “We All Just Wanted Drinks, I Guess.”
